Backsplashes used to feature a 4-6 row of tile surround by a sea of sheetroc. Not so much anymore. Flip through any shelter magazine and you’ll see intricate tile patterns. Hand painted tiles. Expensive beautiful works of are…all designed to attract the eye and be washable!
But what if you wanted something a little different? Or a little quicker? Or a little temporary? Here’s a few ideas I especially liked.
What about a mirror behind the counter? You’d need to keep all your counters clear, but oh how much it would open up the space!
Here’s an anaglypta wall paper painted with copper colored paint! Looks like tile, but an easier and more affordable installation.In case you don’t believe me that this is paper!!This is paper, but covered in clear glass (or could be plexi) to keep it more easily washable.How about a little butcher block backsplash?Or throwing a little money at it?? I’ve seen this done on floors, but the wall is fun and I love the plug cover painted to match!
I’ve always like the use of metal flashing on a backsplash. Very affordable. Relatively easy. Often times it looks retro, but I LOVE how modern and contemporary this one looks!
