With a unique combination of found objects, new-made-to-look-old, reclaimed items and completely re-purposed pieces, Bereber World Imports has something for {almost} everyone! I was introduced to this treasure recently and spent well over an hour getting a tour of this massive treasure trove by the owner, with a little help from his dog! They were so enthusiastic as they showed off this remarkable space. What fun!
First view was the one of the outdoor spaces with statuary, pots, fountains, iron and wood seating and made-to-look-vintage chandeliers. There is a rug room, a lamp room, a mirror room, a vintage hardware room, and a warehouse (picture the shelves at Home Depot!) full of casegoods (consoles, benches, chests). There is a second warehouse where there are re-claimed doors with their ancient, rusted hardware intact, various stone vessels, reclaimed wood benches, metal gates, 500+ (no, that is not a typo) laterns, and the work room where the magic of transformation happens.
WHAT transformations? Well…they have these pretty awesome African stools. Pretty nice in the wood as is, but then they DIP them in silver for a contemporary twist. You know those wooden masks? They dip those as well.
So here, in no particular order is a few pics from my first tour:
