I recently had my virtual assistant come to town for a photo day. She basically wanted to
follow me around to some of my favorite haunts and a few of our current projects and take
pictures of me hanging out in the places I love to shop. I thought it would be fun to share
the resources I rely on locally in my business!
If you’re an existing client you know that the majority of our core purchases are made
through trade sources so sharing those would be fun for me and them, but not so much for
my readers as they cannot go there! So THESE sources are for YOU to check out and enjoy,
right here in a ten minute or so drive around our little neighborhood!
#1.) Canyon Tile
Great quality surfaces are the foundation of any beautiful room and my go-to spot for all
surfaces? Canyon Tile. This has been first, and usually last stop for stone, solid surface
materials and all types of tile since I moved to the area. In a deceptively small footprint this
local tile showroom, right here in Agoura Hills has an enormous selection, a sales team that
really know the business and a pair of owners that are completely kind, trustworthy and a
little bit fun!

#2.) The Frame Gallery
The best way to personalize your home is with art. And it doesn’t need to be a crazy
expensive collector piece. But ANY piece of art can benefit from the perfect frame. One of
my favorite decorating tips is upscale any piece – whether it’s a found painting from a thrift
store or a childs work of art with a fabulous frame and The Frame Gallery is the place we
have all our framing done.
Custom framing is phenomal way to preserve a cherished memory or bring new life to
something with special meaning by showing it off in a new way.

#3.) Mixt Fine Things
If you’re familiar with the term “Antique Mall” and it made you want to run away, you
might want to rethink this one! Mixt is a unique combination of the new and the old, the
curated and the jumbled. There are booths scattered around with some vintage treasures
and others with some great new finds. You can find some cozy clothing items, candles,
books and a few designer treasures.
If you’re into Annie Sloan Chalk Painting?? You’ll be pleased to note that Mixt is one of the
only local places that stocks it! All right in – you guessed it! – Agoura Hills. This is a fun
little stop for me at least once a month. Fun finds and a super nice staff!

#4.) The Collective Shop
This is a new one on my list! I found them (they found me???) on Instagram and I was able
to use some of their great “found items” for a recent installation. Often homes benefit from
the gravitas of having items with a little grit and character incorporated into the design.
Not everything needs to be perfectly new. Showing a little heritage is a GOOD thing and the
collection at the COLLECTIVE Shop does just that!
Staff here is also top-notch (is there a theme here????) so stop in and say hi to Carlos,
Chris, Danielle and Tara. Tell them Pamela sent you :). This is the only one on my list
that is NOT in Agoura, but it’s in Woodland Hills and only about 12 minutes down the road
and SO worth it. Enjoy!

#5.) The Home Consigment Center
The Home Consigment Center is quite literally the first place I shopped when I moved back
to California. We’d moved from a home with HUGE rooms and appropriately scaled furniture. Our monstrously large sofas simply did not fit the smaller spaces in our new SoCal home. I discover The Home Consignment Center out of desperation and lack of cash. I purchased a fabulous Henredon down-filled sofa, eight-way hand-tied that I STILL love for our living room. I found an amazing American Leather sofa and recliner (now living in the man cave!).
Great quality, tremendous value. These are the sort of the items that are worth the investment in re-upholstery.
If you’re thinking that purchasing used furniture is not for you, think again! All the items
they bring in are in excellent condition and usually either still in style or are of a timeless
nature. In my now, my living room sofa, my dining chairs and my king sized bed in our
master bedroom are ALL from the Home Consignment Store.
