We don’t always put a new kitchen into one of our mini-flips but it was an easy call to do this update and remake this property! The living room had a great beamed ceiling which we left in it’s original rich tones as we loved the way the looked! Painting them was a consideration but when selling, it’s nice to leave woodwork when it’s both a pretty feature AND in great condition! We made just a couple of modifications that allowed for this new and improved flow.
This home also had an attached single car garage that housed the water heater and the washer/drawer. There was easy access to the home that was desperately in need of a little more space. And given this home was built when cars were smaller, we figured it was unlikely the garage would ever be used for the intended purpose. By opening up the doorway and using a wide slider door, this space becomes usable square footage and part of the home. We enclosed the water heater, washer and dryer AND even squeezed in a closet, making this the perfect secondary living space, home office or kid hangout.
