Surprising Designer Looks on Amazon!

I do love Amazon! It’s pretty much my go-to shopping site for essentials. Office supplies, specialty home items and odd little things I want to buy but do not want to brave LA traffic to go in search of. Thirty seconds on Amazon.com and I’ve generally found it – at least enough to save it to the shopping cart for a later, deeper dive. My favorite make-up products are even easier to buy on Amazon than traipsing to the mall to purchase.

I’ve been using Amazon for a while now to gather staging supplies for our installations (you can view THAT list here.)

When doing staging installations I’m often needing things quickly and was amazed at the breadth of selection Amazon has to offer in the home decor department! I thought it might be fun to share a few of these treasures and how they might work in YOUR home.

1. Grey Drapery Panel Pair

I think every room can benefit from drapery. Curtains. Side panels. Whatever you call them, they frame a window beautifully. Most of the ready made drapery panels I see in peoples homes tend to be of the grommet variety. One of my “staging rules” (yes, I have this, lol!) is:

Hate ’em. Anyway, pleated drapes look great but can be spendy to have made custom. I came across this recently and thought it was spectacular custom look without the custom price!

Finding great things for the walls that are NOT the same old ZGallerie or Restoration Hardware piece can be a challenge. Wood carvings offer texture to a wall.

2. Modern Wood Wall Art

I was surprised to find this beauty on Amazon. Don’t be fooled by the image here. It’s actually a full 47″ in diameter! Big enough to make a statement!

It might be the perfect thing to hang over a bed (securely!!) if you have a vaulted ceiling. Picture this with one of my favorite Amazon bedding sets (item number 4!). Over the bed not your thing? It would an interesting focal point over a grand fire place or fabulous buffet.
