Full Length Mirror
Its always good to have a mirror in a space to make it feel more open and reflect light. It’s especially important when you’re building a workout area in your home so that you can see what you’re doing and check your form. Make sure that it’s big enough to see your whole body.
The Mirror
The Mirror is a great new workout concept that combines a mirror and private workout classes. You can mount it on the wall or use it like a stand alone mirror.
Free weights are almost a must for a home gym but they take up a lot of space. Try an adjustable dumbbell set like the one here. They take up a lot less space and you’re able to get heavier weight.
Basket/Hooks for Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are an amazing workout tool to create long lean muscles. But they get a little tangled. An easy way to organize them is to put hooks on the wall to hang them on. Smaller bands for your ankles can go in a basket so it’s not sitting on the floor.
Towel Basket
When you workout you sweat…or at least that’s the goal. Having towels at hand is extremely convenient when you’re trying to get your best workout on. Place some small hand towels on a small table in the corner with a few water bottles. This way you have a place to take a breather, towel off, and grab some water. Now you’re ready to get back into your workout!
Yoga Mat
Stretching is super important when you add working out into your routine. It helps reduce soreness and injury and, according to studies, helps you live longer. Having a yoga mat to stretch on makes gripping with your hands and feet a lot easier. Find a thicker mat if you’re looking for a more comfortable stretch or you’re in a room with hardwood floors. It adds cushion for your hands and knees and can easily be rolled up and put in a corner.
Sliders
Sliders are an under utilized piece of equipment that is super easy to store and gives the user great results! They’re great for hardwood or carpeted floors and can be added into any exercise routine. Mountain climbers, pikes, lunges, etc.
Jump Rope
A great way to add in cardio to your routine without a machine is jump rope! Place a hook on the wall to hang it on or place it in a basket. Bring it out to start your home workout, get your heart rate up, your body warmed up, and go from there!
