The Designer’s Home STILL has no Drapes
Well – at least this project!! I fully thought I had decided. When the showcase house became a bust, I wanted to do right by sponsors. Not the least of which was Thibaut Fabrics. And I absolutely LOVE the fabric that was the bouncing off point for the entire project. However…
Giving it up for the greater good.
Now that sounds a little more important than it actually is. The truth is, this fabric is perfect, absolutely, gorgeously, perfectly perfect. For my clients master bedroom. There. I said it. And any of my clients will tell you that I do not like to repeat design decisions. (Except the THE rug, but you’ll have to read more on that later).
Except this client fell in love with a plum veined marble and this fabric ticks ALL the boxes for her, just like it did for more. So now I re-think.
For Me but not for Thee? Or for me and for thee? Or for thee but NOT for me.
Which leaves me vacillating on my tile choices. To that end, I’ve ordered a bunch of samples.
Now let me ask you something. Did you ever read “If you Give a Mouse a Cookie” to your kiddoes? ‘Cause I did and it’s feeling just a little bit like that.
I believe I have now missed my window to get my drapes made by my workroom. Which means I’ll be sewing them on my own. But given LAST weeks post about building out my sewing space, maybe that’s okay?
Let’s dig into the fabric options and maybe I’ll put it to an IG vote this week.
Substitute #1
Substitute #2
Substitute #3
Watch my IG, dear readers…maybe YOU can help me decide. Or maybe I’ll just let Sophie decide.
