So, do you love Pinterest?? Celebrity interior designers use pinterest to share their favorites. A personal favority of mine, Arkansasa interior designer, Tobi Fairley has GREAT Pinterest boards that I follow to get inspired by.
If you’re guilty of cruising the ‘net in search of the perfect chicken recipe or finding the most fabulous craft or hairstyle idea, you’re probably we’ll acquainted with this handy little program. It’s free, it’s fun and it’s fabulous. But did you also know that it can help you organize your next interior design project?? (Actually, it would work for ANY pending project, but since I’m an interior designer and this is my blog, we’re going to use THIS topic!!)
How to manage your project with Pinterest:
Set it up. If you have multiple rooms, don’t just tag your board, “My decorating ideas”. Get organized and name them. Your project might look this:
- My House: Honey Do List
- My House: Living Room makeover
- My House: MasterBedroom Remodel
- here’s mine:
Other Projects? Maybe you’ve got a second home, a rental property, or a business. Same logic applies. We’ve just bought a little vintage trailer and my trailer has her own Pinterest board. Here’s a screenprint of the personal boards on my Pinterest profile. (You’ll see I even have a board of things I think my daughter will enjoy):
Share it! Pinterest boards are a great way for a client to share his or her interior design ideas with me while we’re working on a project. You can share a board with anyone you wish (including your designer) to see your ideas. Add your mom, your sister, your hubby…whoever you want to share the information with.
